As per records, World war 2 has ended in the year 1945 but still the world continues to be at war in the year 2009. This is not a breaking news but a disturbing one.
Isn't it?

There is a pattern - The current and late super power do not fight against each other.
They make two regions as pawns and instigate a conflict between them as in the case of Vietnam and Korea.
Secondly, the super powers mask themselves as political movements & name them as capitalism and communism. There by, the real offenders stay behind the screen.

India could apply the same model to win against Pakistan or any other trouble makers.
Engage the enemy in fighting amongst themselves so that they neither get time nor mind to meddle in our affairs.

Recently, Mumbai massacre on 26/11/'08 ignited debates on what needs to be done.
I think, none of them came close to the bull's eye.
Elites showed their anguish on politicians.
Media was engrossed in breaking the news.
Police and investigation agencies were busy proving Pakistan to be the culprit. Who else could be?
Now, Let me ask a different question?
What if China or America were behind this violence.
Will the same mob ask us to carpet bomb America like it wanted on Pakistan??
Definitely, IT's THE TIME TO CHANGE CONSTANTS.

A problem might have MANY solutions but, only FEW of them are optimal.
Aforementioned, certainly holds true.

A best friend of mine had the below query:
Srinivas Naik: "Hey Prithvi, Why haven't you used your right to vote?"
Me: "I don't want to use my voting right instead I want to utilize it.. "

There is software to choose 7 wonders of the modern world but Alas! none to elect 'The President'.
There are schools that groom administrative officers but Alas! none to make 'The Statesman'.

I see efforts are being made towards changing the political system. It translates into unconventional products from bollywood like 'Yuva', 'Rang De Basanti'.
Even a party sprung up by name 'Lok Paritran'.

Enlightenment is not sufficient. There is a dire need to change the approach.
It is difficult for 'Lok Paritran' to win an election on the current grounds based on all the unfair means in place.
Lets get real. It is a herculean task to make masses vote for real goodie.
If the OPTIMAL solution for winning an election is by rigging, then Let 'Lok Paritran' do it!!

Internet has vast information in it to be explored. During my initial days as a software engineer, I had a passion to create stuffs, test things..of late, it has subdued..It has now morphed into exploring the internet..ends have shifted, albeit not radically..I came across few finds which I am going to place them below:

Recently, I decided to control my mind.
I was addicted to playing pool.
Now, Its been over few days I quit playing.
I am quite successful in holding my mind to stay away from pool table.
Why am I doing this??
coz, its very difficult..
Also, I aspire to control this world. Prior to that, I want to gain control over my mind.
Yeah! I aspire to become a DICTATOR.

TODO for my blog's popularity

Few TODO's I plan to implement towards increasing my blog's popularity - Inspired by the TODO's in the project at my workplace.

First of all, I would rename my blog to a name that could be easily remembered.
I would mention my blog address in my visiting card and also in resume.
My status during online chatting would re-direct to this blog.
I would invite guests to post their views in my blog.
Make the blog more attractive in appearance by means of pictures and videos.
I would actively participate in visiting others blog and placing my comments.
I would make efforts to improve the quality of the contents in this blog, that might get honored to be printed in news papers like Bangalore Mirror.
I would add relevant meta data in my postings that might increase the page ranks.
I would provide links to my articles in digg, thereby gaining traffic to my blog.
Next time I visit a cyber cafe, I would set homepage on all of their computers to my blog.

Lastly, I myself might become popular for all the good reasons and while signing the autographs to my patrons, would mention my blog address.

Below are a list of findings that awed me:

Skins for laptop shell.
Water-proof cell phones.
Tent-camp as an accessory in BMW. A parachute like tent is inflated behind the rear wheels which can accommodate 2 people.
Alarm clock that wont snooze unless fed with some pennies.
Stackable USB where-in USB's could be chained amongst each other. By connecting USB's amongst themselves and their radicle to the port of a computer, one could perform search in all the accumulated memory in a single go.
TV in a cell phone, Scanners embeds in them....what next?? Projectors inside a cell phone!!

Inorder to enable popping of a Dialog box to select a workspace in an eclipse application,
browse to configuration\.settings under eclipse root directory and edit org.eclipse.ui.ide.prefs
Set attribute SHOW_WORKSPACE_SELECTION_DIALOG=true

Therez another way around to do this by editing the registry.
Would post about it some other time.

Disabling the Error Report service

As Soon as I log into my system, I am greeted with Error Messages and my readiness in reporting them to Microsoft. I never report my problems to any one. They donot get solved that way.

Hence, my default answer is always "Dont Send the Error Report". I wanted my Windows run machine to know this. To do this,Run msconfig cmd and browse to services tab and uncheck the Error Reporting service for MS Corp.

Alternative is to disable it under System Properties -> Advanced -> Error Reporting Tab

PATH and CLASSPATH

Keeping on the trend of finding the differences as in my earlier posts but importantly understanding them, herez the basic difference between the environment variables PATH and CLASSPATH :
PATH stores the location of executables where as CLASSPATH holds that of classes or jar files.
Hence, the common mistake of placing the bin directory inside CLASSPATH could be avoided by appropriately placing them in PATH variable.

Differences between Pool, Snooker and Billiards.

To me pool is nothing but a game similar to carroms.
Instead of sitting and using fingers to pocket coins as in case of carroms, in pool, we use a huge table and use sticks to pocket ivory balls in a standing position with little bending.
I play lot of pool and I prefer it to carroms.
Someday, a kinda quest arised inside me to know the difference between the table games pool, billiards N snookers.

Herez a brief summary or rather overview regarding them..
In Pool, there are 15 balls that includes a black, 7 spots and 7 stripes. Ofcourse, cue ball isn't included in the counting. There would be 6 pockets on the table and the player shall pot the black ball last into it. Other rules M not discussing here.

Billiards is like mother of all table games. Its the oldest among them and the interesting fact is that the billiards table doesn't have pockets in it(not sure). There would be three balls and the points are based on which balls
are touched upon.

Snooker has varied meaning.
Its sometimes referred to as a game where-in therez a quantity of red-balls and colored ones along-with a cue-ball. The colored ones are either potted by preceding a Red-ball or if there are no red-balls, then colored ones are potted as in a ordered set.
The other meaning refers to a situation where-in a player would lose even-though he pots the remaining balls. The great escape procedure for him would be to force the opponent in making fouls.

I give lenience to people, but at times, they misuse it.
When I am into some serious work, I grossly get involved in it.
I find people interfering and many times interrupting my thoughts and workflow process.
People doesn't try to understand the points being explained to them.
For this to happen they got to shut their mouthpiece at-least for a sec.
I would let someone chide about me until they aren't on false basis.
Very few have got the ability to let others speak rubbish about them and also stop them, when they feel so.
I could be counted among those few.

I have observed that few people make a big fuss after finding faults in others.The purpose of their conveying their findings to the doer is to attract more importance to their stature and authority. It is often reflected in the way it is being conveyed. But if the same thing is conveyed in a more polite manner, it adds value to both the speaker and the words. Importantly it will impact the wrong-doer by making him know about the fault he has committed and the effect it had in the sense it will stop repeating him from committing the errors again or recreating a similar scenario.

This is nothing but the truth!!

Remove fear..Fear is the greatest handicap..
Now comes the question, how to remove fear???
Try not to worry on what others might think or rather think about you or one's action.
Just concentrate on the job to be accomplished.
Later, you would be surprised to note that almost everyone is engrossed in minding their own business.
Moreover, others impressions about you arent going to help u a trifle.
Nothing great have been achieved by overly shy persons.
Shyness is a bane. But, lack of shyness shouldnt be treated as being rude..
Therez a subtle difference between politeness and shyness. Isn't it?
Sometimes one should avoid thinking in all directions.

I decide not to sleep

There creeped a kinda sick feeling inside me.
I spend enough time on my bed sleeping.
But, somewhere I felt I donot deserve that.
There are lot of undone things yet. How did I fell into sleep??
I read and hear about big entrepreneurs and great coders who rarely have time to blink their eyes.
Even I do aspire to reach such heights, but, I am sleeping..
I am neither rejuvenated nor relaxed after I get out of my slumber.
I have few times tasted the pleasure gained when one gets tired enough that he slides into dreamland.

Yes.I decided not to sleep again from now.
I have decided not to force myself into sleeping.
I would give it a try not because its a special occasion like sivaratri for that matter, but to have the pleasure in sleeping..

Its a very competitive world we are facing.Everyone is engaged in out-doing each other.Agreed, the fittest survives, but lets have pleasure even in losing.You may say that, one who could be happy even after losing probably might never win.
Here, what I am trying to put-forth is a new strategy in a competition where in a participant who is likely to lose(reasons could be his skill-set is inferior or the participant is uninterested or likewise..) creates another competition which he is likely to win and also un-scores or nullifies the outcome of the existing competition.

I would now provide an example hoping it would supplement your digestion in understanding the aforementioned.
Consider there are two automobile manufacturers Ford and Toyota, who are competing against each other w.r.to the mileage of their products.Now Ford finds it hard to match the standards of Totyota. In this scenario, the probability of someone going for Ford decreases and hence there would be drop-in sales for Ford.
Now, Ford introduces a new and exclusive feature, say tail lamps, and also able to change the customers preference priorities.The battle is no longer won on which product gives high mileage but the one which has TAIL-LAMPS.

Its easy.The answer lies in viewing the Excel sheets as records in a table.
I guess thats enough clue.The remaining task is to add the the Excel driver as a datasource and obtain connection like we do when using standard databases like Oracle/DB2/Mysql.

Reasons to commute by bus

Commuting by bus (esp. the BMTC buses) is not a child's play. It requires lot of courage. Although, city buses stereotypically are made for ordinary citizens in mind, it needs out of ordinary qualities to get into it. Nonetheless to get out of it.
Moreover, it involves loads of risk attached to it.
Agreed, No risks => No gains..
There are infact more reasons to prefer BMTC buses to not.Alert me if I miss few.Here's the list:
Its no use in polishing the shoes.It would be just an wasted effort considering the stampede that one definitely has to be a part of.The same reason could be attributed to Ironed clothes and worse w.r.to the Hair styles.
ohhh... I just have depicted a scary scenario infront of you. Isn't it??
But the misery doesnt end there..Its just the beginning.
Hey..I havent placed the benefits yet..Here they are:
First of all, it increases the risk quotient.It is a bench-mark on one's risk appetite.
Secondly, one needs to be on alert.Alert about their belongings.Its proven that if one escapes the clutches of out-laws here, he could escape elsewhere too.
Thirdly, its very adventurous.Its a difficult feat to hang on the foot-boards, jump in and out of a speeding bus.It is no lesser an achievement than climbing the Mt.Everest.Indeed, ticketless travel adds to an enthralled feeling.
